The Youth Red Cross (YRC) unit in Jairams Arts and Science College, Karur is a vibrant student-led wing that works under the principles and guidance of the Indian Red Cross Society. The club is dedicated to fostering a sense of social responsibility, humanitarianism, and community service among students.
To inspire and empower students to uphold humanitarian values, promote health and community service, and build a culture of compassion and social responsibility within and beyond the campus.
To instill the fundamental principles of the Red Cross — humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality — among students. Also, encourage students to participate actively in health awareness, disaster preparedness, and community welfare programs.
To promote health and hygiene awareness among students and the community.
To encourage voluntary blood donation and organize blood donation camps.
To develop leadership qualities and a sense of social responsibility in students.
To provide relief and assistance during emergencies and natural calamities.
To foster national integration and international friendship.
Health Camps & Awareness Programmes: Organizing medical camps, health check-ups, and awareness sessions on first aid, nutrition, and lifestyle diseases.
Blood Donation Drives: Conducting regular voluntary blood donation camps in collaboration with local hospitals and blood banks.
Disaster Relief & Community Service: Engaging students in relief work during floods, cyclones, and other natural disasters.
Workshops & Training: First aid training, disaster preparedness workshops, and youth leadership training programmes.
Observance Days: Celebrating Red Cross Day, World Health Day, and other significant days through events and outreach activities.
